The Exponentially Better Integral. At The James Brand, we’re dedicated to making the very best knives and tools and to always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In that spirit, we developed the Barnes. The Barnes is a titanium framelock and our very first integral design—CNC-machined from one solid billet of 6AL-4V titanium. This means fewer parts, less maintenance, and the ability to do things with the form that you cannot do in standard knife construction. The Barnes is available with two premium blade steel options: Böhler M390 stainless steel or Damasteel® DS93X. M390 is widely regarded for its exceptional edge retention, corrosion resistance, and overall performance, while Damasteel combines striking pattern-welded aesthetics with world-class performance and durability. The blade runs on a stainless steel pivot and ceramic bearings, and features a CNC-machined titanium clip with an integrated paracord lanyard. It’s the finest and most technically advanced knife we’ve ever made.
